My Weekend Project

Right now, I’m learning Python for a project I’ll announce here eventually.

In the linked-to video, the instructor made a comment that stopped me in my tracks. Coding is more productive these days because so many problems have already been solved and can be copied.

Even in the child’s play coding I do at work, I find that I am ALWAYS going back to things I’ve done previously to copy them over. This means that I’m getting more productive.

And languages today have coding solutions BUILT RIGHT IN. This means that as computer languages progress, there is more and more institutional knowledge that is getting shared.

Copyright is designed to destroy processes like that.

Intellectual property is evil.
